As General Contractor, VEC provided turnkey construction services for a commercial client at the Kaiser Permanente Airport Way Laboratory in Portland, Oregon. The Contract involved Design Assist/Build services, VEC managed and built-out all aspects of the structural retrofit and upgrades. The project involved the replacement of seven (7) rooftop air handling units (AHUs) – included work within an occupied critical care critical facility (24/7 operation). Additionally, the major portion of work was completed in a single weekend shutdown for replacement, consisting of three, 12-hour shifts, covering 36 consecutive hours of work around the clock.
