Viking Engineering & Construction Portland Oregon

This major upgrade for a regional healthcare provider’s central laboratory facility included replacement of all air handlers, as well as the structural retrofit (self-performed) required to hold the increased weight of the new modern air handlers.

As General Contractor, Viking provided turnkey construction services, including Design Assist/Build services and build-out of all aspects of the structural retrofit and upgrades. The project involved the replacement of seven (7) rooftop air handling units (AHUs) – included work within an occupied critical facility with 24/7 operations. Additionally, the major portion of work was completed in a single weekend shutdown for replacement, consisting of three, 12-hour shifts, covering 36 consecutive hours around the clock.
