Paying it Forward through Mentor-Protégé Relationships HERE
The Port of Portland’s Mentor-Protégé Program is a nationally recognized small business development program designed to overcome barriers small businesses face when trying to do business with government agencies.
The three-year program pairs each protégé firm with two mentors who work with the small business to develop a strategic plan specific to the needs of the small business and overcome obstacles the firm is facing. The Port facilitates monthly team meetings and provides a wide array of free technical assistance during the firms’ participation in the program.
Viking graduated as a Protégé in 2017, and is now giving back to the Mentor-Protégé Program by acting as mentor to help the next generation of Protégés.
The Viking Engineering + Construction Scholarship at Portland State University
The Viking Engineering + Construction Scholarship is awarded each year to one student each from the College of Engineering and School of Business, to honor the enormous impact these programs have had on the creation of Viking Engineering + Construction.
