One of the preeminent challenges of our time is increasing sustainability and reducing the environmental impacts of business operations. Viking believes that, as a portion of our “Building Better” mission statement, it is imperative that we do our part. We actively work to minimize the impact our operations have on the environment through multiple programs and initiatives.
Sustainability Initiatives
Fleet Electrification Program
Since 2019, Viking has been working with a purpose to electrify its fleet as part of our ongoing sustainability efforts. As technological advances make it possible to electrify not only passenger vehicles but also work trucks and vans, we will be moving aggressively towards full electrification as existing vehicles are retired and replaced.
Sustainable Construction Program
Viking’s Sustainable Construction Program, implemented in 2017, has resulted in decreased construction waste and increased utilization of bio-based and energy efficient materials and equipment on virtually every one of our job sites.
Paper Reduction Program
Viking’s Paper Reduction Program, implemented in 2018, has more than halved our reliance on printed paper and dramatically reduced the amount of mail generated and received, significantly decreasing our carbon footprint.
